Visit to Formula Square
More than 20 participants, including MA(STEM Ed) students and teachers, visited Formula Square at Hong Kong Cyberport. During the visit, staff members shared insights into technology applications, and students explored a variety of technology activities firsthand, gaining a clearer understanding of how STEM elements can be integrated into project-based learning.
Students also visited the virtual racing experience centre in Cyberport. On the track, they participated in a range of interactive activities, including mini-racing competitions and aircraft-simulation experiences.
While enjoying the activities, students gained further inspiration and a deeper understanding of how to help future learners discover and apply STEM elements—such as electronic components and airflow physics—during racing gameplay. This approach not only makes competitions more engaging but also enables learning through interest.

Singapore Study Tour
The MA(STEM Ed) Programme successfully organised a “Singapore Study Tour”. The immersive experience included engaging lectures and STEM workshops delivered by Science Centre Singapore and the Ministry of Education (MOE) in Singapore, as well as sharing sessions by a local smart-technology farm company.
Students joined discussions on a variety of topics, including the current landscape of STEM education in Singapore and the status of curriculum development. The diverse lecture content provided valuable insights and fostered meaningful exchanges among students. They also explored exhibitions and participated in STEM workshops at Science Centre Singapore, including a hands-on “DINOSAURS | EXTINCTIONS | US” exhibition, and experienced a wide range of science facilities and displays throughout the centre.
In addition to academic activities, students also had a rare opportunity to visit the headquarters of the Singapore MOE. These visits further deepened students’ understanding of STEM education and its implementation.
Overall feedback from students was highly positive. Many noted that the lectures and institutional visits were not only information-rich but also highly beneficial to their learning journey. One student said, “This activity helped us better understand different cultures around the world and learn how education is approached in different regions, which will greatly assist us in planning our future development.” Another student added, “The trip allowed us to gain a deeper understanding of Singapore’s stance in STEM education and how it has evolved through cultural diversity.”
Through its STEM curriculum, the MA(STEM Ed) Programme is committed to providing learning experiences beyond the classroom, helping students prepare with both theory and practical skills for future career development in STEM-related fields.

Visit to the Hong Kong Maritime Museum
The MA(STEM Ed) Programme successfully held a “Hong Kong Maritime Museum Visit” on Hong Kong Island.
Through guided tours of the Marine Science exhibition halls and the workshop titled “Searching for Plankton in Victoria Harbour,” students collected seawater samples in Victoria Harbour. They then used microscopes to observe different types of plankton, learning how marine culture can be explored from a STEM perspective. The activity also strengthened students’ awareness of the importance of protecting the marine environment and marine microbial resources.
