Programme: Master of Arts in Education for Sustainability
Year or Entry / Graduate: 2016 / 2017 (1-Year Cohort)
It’s my pleasure and matter of proud to had a master degree in Master of Arts in Education for Sustainability (MAEfS) from such a world-class institution The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). I am Debbrota Mallick from Bangladesh, I have been awarded a scholarship by Department of Science and Environmental Study (SES), EdUHK to study on MAEfS after graduation in Marine Science from University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. My journey at EdUHK was the sweetest memory that I ever had in my life with creative learning and sustainability Education. The well-organized course materials, student-centred classroom and ingenious instructors brought me a world of learning where did I get the new way of thinking about sustainability. Many students like me, who are from science background may think that it would not be lucrative to take a master degree in Education, but from my experience, MAEfS is not just a course, it is a way of thinking that flourished my knowledge on the way of sustainability. This program helps me to realize that only science can’t bring sustainability, what we are looking for, without education. The most special things that I want to share is the classroom environment and quality of Education. Here, I got a classroom that wasn’t only a place to giving and takes, but also a place of culturing student’s opinion and teachers sharing with a view to flourish student’s cognitive domains. More effectively, I learned about the key governing factors of sustainability and their traits of interrelations that influence human’s behaviour and environment. At last, I want to say that MAEfS is not just a course but a way to open the door of your thinking and understanding the mechanics of sustainability.
